Warforge — Privacy Policy

Last updated 14 September 2026 · Applies to the Android app com.maddog.warforge

Warforge is a single-player game about assembling military vehicles. It has no user accounts, no sign-in, no chat and no server of its own. The app itself does not collect, transmit or store any personal information about you.

It does show advertisements, and the advertising network — Google AdMob — collects data in the ordinary course of doing that. That is the only data collection connected with this app, and the whole of this policy is essentially about it.

1. What stays on your device

Your progress — which vehicles you have built, your stars, your coin balance, and your sound, music and assist settings — is written to your device's private app storage. It is never uploaded anywhere, it is not readable by other apps, and it is deleted when you uninstall the game.

2. Advertising

Advertisements are served by Google AdMob. Google acts as an independent data controller for this; the data described below goes to Google, not to us, and we never see it.

What Google may collectWhy
Your device's advertising ID (a resettable identifier) Choosing which ads to show, limiting how often you see the same one, and detecting fraudulent clicks
IP address, and the approximate location derived from it — typically no more precise than a city Showing ads relevant to your country and complying with regional rules. The app never requests GPS or precise location permission.
Ad interactions — which ads were shown, viewed or tapped Measuring and billing advertising
Device and app information — model, operating system version, language, and this app's identifier and version Delivering an ad that fits your screen and works on your device

Google's handling of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, in the Google Privacy Policy, and in the AdMob policies.

Your consent, and how to change it

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows Google's consent form the first time you open it, and no ad request is made until you have answered it. You can change that answer at any time from Settings → Privacy options inside the game.

Where a consent form is not required, ads are served under Google's standard terms. Declining personalised ads does not remove advertising — you will still see ads, but they will not be selected using your advertising ID.

Opting out

3. Update checks

When the game starts it may request a small file, version.json, from GitHub, to see whether a newer version has been published to Google Play. It is checked at most once every six hours.

That request carries only what any web request carries — your IP address and the app's version number. No identifier is sent, nothing about you or your progress is included, and nothing is stored as a result. The request is made over HTTPS.

4. What this app does not do

The app requests exactly four permissions: internet access and network state (for ads and the update check), vibration (for haptic feedback when a part is placed), and the advertising ID, which Android requires any app using AdMob to declare.

5. Children

Warforge is not directed at children under 13 and is not part of the Designed for Families programme. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through this app, contact us and we will act on it.

6. Keeping and deleting data

7. Security

Every network request the app makes uses HTTPS. There is no account to compromise and no personal data in transit.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
